It is still quite cool and a bit rainy but we wanted to do a bit of sightseeing. We drove out of Ft Lauderdale to the Everglades to one of the parks. We walked around an area that had some caged animals. There were a number of alligators at various sizes and ages. The park guide explained the ages and strengths of the various alligators. He asked if I wanted to hold the baby alligator and I didn’t but Darren did. The guide taped the alligator’s mouth shut but that tape didn’t look too strong to me. I asked what it felt like and he said “a wallet”.
We went on a short airboat ride in the everglades. The weather was very cool and had been quite cold by their standards. The guide assured us that we wouldn’t see alligators as they were too far below the surface. In hotter weather alligators are easy to spot. I think I was quite allright with the alligators being below the water. It was a fun ride.
